FAQs
What must I consider after the clean?
Here is what we want you to consider after a clean; don’t worry you will be given one of these to read through on the day.
IMPORTANT – If you must walk on the carpets while they are drying, ensure you don’t slip over when you go from the damp carpets onto any smooth floors eg laminate, stone etc
IMPORTANT – Don’t put anything wood or metal back onto the carpet before it is totally dry. Plastic is fine. Wood may leave dye stains and metal will go rusty.
IMPORTANT – Please air the room as effectively as possible by opening windows / doors etc. Radiators left on are fine if the room is left with the doors open. If this is NOT done, you may experience a “damp” smell which will go once the property is aired effectively.
Wool carpets will smell of wet hair immediately after a clean. That’s exactly what they are made of! Opening the windows will clear it quite quickly!
How long with the carpets take to dry?
With our incredibly powerful machines we aim for a drying time of 4-6 hours. In Summertime or on a very warm breezy day it may be just an hour or 2, or it may be longer depending on how much work we’ve had to do to get the carpets pristine again and what fibre the carpet is made from.
What do you need from me?
We are very self-sufficient. If I use my “truckmounted” system I don’t need anything apart from access. If I use my portable all I need is hot water and electric.
How long will upholstery take to dry?
Upholstery is full of highly absorbent filling which may take a while to dry fully. In normal weather it may take up to 16-24 hours to fully dry which is why we will normally recommend upholstery cleaning is done in the summer months. In this case it will only take 6 -12 hours to dry with good weather and airflow.
Hot Water Extraction vs Dry Cleaning
Hot Water Extraction – our deepest clean
Our most powerful cleaning method for heavily soiled, stained or tired carpets. It removes deeply embedded dirt while extracting most of the moisture, so carpets are usually dry within a few hours.
Dry Powder Cleaning – for lighter cleans
A low-moisture option for lightly soiled carpets and routine maintenance. Specialist cleaning powder is worked into the fibres, absorbs the dirt, then is vacuumed away.
For heavily soiled carpets, Hot Water Extraction is the better choice.
