You’re Having LVT Fitted! Congratulations!

At Great Choice Flooring we love LVT flooring! It’s super tough and, if well maintained and looked after, will last for many years to come.

Please take your time to read through these points here since it will help you better undertsand what is needed from you prior to the fitting, and after.

On The Day Of The Fitting

Heating On!

If it is a cold day can you please put the heating on. It’s not for the fitters comfort but the warmth will help your flooring settle down more quickly.

Entry / Exits

Please ensure the route to and from the areas of work are clear. This includes pictures and nik-naks on walls, shoe racks at entrances etc!

Appliances

We are not qualified to remove or disconnect gas appliances or water appliances etc. If you want your LVT to go underneath an appliance ensure the appliance is removed before the fitters get there and be careful putting it back so LVT doesn’t scratch!

Follow Up Actions

If any follow up actions are needed, please call us here at Great Choice Flooring office  on 01202 377 577 to ensure it happens! Please don’t leave things to be done with the fitters … please contact me to ensure it happens.

Electricals

It is not our responsibility to move and unplug TV’s and other electrical equipment. If circumstances are such you can’t remove them yourself we can unplug and move these items but it is not our responsibility to re-plug them back in again, sort out the reception, re-plug in Wifi etc. NO responsibility will be accepted for damage to electricals etc whilst moving them.

Rooms Cleared

Unable to clear a room?  Please ensure you remove books from bookshelves, drawers from cabinets or wardrobes etc. It is not our responsibility to move your personal items, books, magazine racks, toys, nik naks etc. We cannot accept any responsibility for any damage to furniture or walls etc caused by moving furniture to lay the flooring.

Safety First!

We work with knives and tools – please keep yourself, pets and children well away from the area(s) we are working in.

Parking

Can you please ensure the fitters can park close to the property. LVT and screeds are heavy!

Door / Plinth Trimming

Like most flooring companies, we use professional door trimmers. If your doors or plinths need trimming call Tony Fisher on 07749 234678 or Brian Larwood on 07838 118812. They will charge you directly for doing this.

Paying Fitters

If agreed please can you ensure you pay the fitter in cash to avoid the VAT. It’s not back-handers or anything like that it’s just I’m VAT registered and they’re not! It’s an easy way to save a few quid!

After The Fitting

Tabs Under Furniture

Once your new flooring is fitted please ensure you place felt or plastic pads or sliders underneath all furniture to avoid damaging your new flooring.

Expansion / Flooring Settling

All flooring expands after fitting as it settles to its new environment. Unless it’s a safety issue please allow 4-6 weeks for your new flooring to fully settle and we’ll pop back for a free, quick ‘n’ easy re-trim. Just call us to arrange.
